The 24-year-old American swimmer Dana Vollmer is an Olympic gold medalist who set a world record at the Athens Summer Olympics (2004) winning the gold medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay event along with her teammates of the United States team. In 2012 Dana Vollmer set the world record winning the gold medal in 100m butterfly event, 4x200m freestyle relay and in 4x100m medley relay.

Her life and achievements are of special interest to those who undergo treatments for heart conditions and also those who either take care of such people or professionals working for heart and healthcare.

Though Dana Vollmer had to undergo a heart surgery in 2003 to correct supraventricular tachycardia that fastens pulse rate to up to 240 beats per minute, she valiantly went ahead with her training and took part in major international swimming competitions winning several coveted medals. Reportedly, she keeps a defibrillator by the swimming pool side wherever she swims to take care of any emergency heart conditions.

Ye Shiwen, Olympics Gold Medalist

Ye Shiwen, the 16-year-old Chinese swimmer from Zhejiang, made much more news during the 2012 Summer Olympics for wrong reasons than her incredible achievements of winning gold medals (esp. 200 m and 400 m individual medley) and her world record in the Women's 400m Individual Medley. It was a moment to celebrate when she broke the record set by Stephanie Rice in the 2008 Summer Olympics and a further 3 seconds reduced when she finished with the stopwatch clicking 4:28.43.

The Bong actress Bipasha Basu, who is best known for playing bold roles in Indian cinema, especially in Bollywood films, though she also has made her indelible marks in Bengali, Telugu and Tamil films, has celebrated her 33rd birthday on 7th January 2012.

After a successful modeling career that sold a lot of brands in India and abroad, Bips debuted in the 2001 film Ajnabee in a negative role, but the talented actress soon carved out a place for herself in Indian cinema, and often attracted the tags such as Sex Symbol and in the course of time she acted in a number of hit films and others noted for their cinematic excellence.

Some of her notable films include Raaz (2002), Jism (2003), No Entry (2005), Apharan (2005), Phir Hera Pheri (2006), Corporate (2006), Dhoom 2 (2006), Race (2008), Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) and Lamhaa (2010).

In 2011 Bips’ had only one release, Dum Maaro Dum which was reasonably good at the box-office and received good critical acclaim.

Basu’s third movie with Abbas-Mustan, Players, which released on 6 January, 2012, though had a satisfactory opening on the first day, its occupancy rate was only around 30 % in many circuits, though some reported up to 70%.

Basu’s debut into English language films is with Roland Joffé’s Singularity, an epic romance time travel adventure drama set mainly against the historical backdrop of the first Anglo-Maratha war and the current times, in which she plays a Maratha warrior Taluja Naik. Singularity, produced at a budget of $27 million, also stars actors Josh Hartnett, Neve Campbell and Abhay Deol in main cast. Miranda Kerr to Wear VS $2.5m Fantasy Bra

The event’s much awaited pictures might be available after the first week of November, say by the ninth. The Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr is slated to return to the Victoria's Secret lingerie show with a $2.5million Fantasy Bra, in the footsteps of Gisele Bunchen, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks and Karolina Kurkova who modeled for a $15million bra back in 2000.

About one-third of all the people living now in the world might not have worn a bra, whether it is the costliest or the cheapest. Don’t take the statistics as given by any reliable source, but by a crazy bra statistician who roughly calculated that about 50% of the world population could be males, and added to that the preteens, some ethnic women who never wear bras, and some naturists, to arrive at about 66.66% of the world population.

And out of the one-third, the bra statistician claimed, there can be millions of women who either have heard about VS lingerie and bras, but a few of them have either seen or worn them, considering that there are other brands of bras too. And among men, there can be a huge number of them who love the VS bras, not because they buy or wear them, but they immensely love the Victoria’s Secret Angels such as the dimple-cheeked Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr.

The big news that makes round and rounds of fashion sites and blogged eagerly by fashion bloggers is that the VS $2.5m Fantasy Bra is just a push-up bra bedecked with precious gems. To make the bra so special, VS got it embedded with two 14-carat yellow diamonds and two 8-carat white diamonds which are just a few of the costly gems out of the 3,400 gems consisting of pearls, citrines, diamonds and aquamarines that have been embedded into the hand-stitched push-up bra.

Kerr will wear the $2.5million Fantasy Bra during Victoria's Secret lingerie show in November.
